The FIRST TEAM met SOUTHGATE HARMEN 'B' at Ashmole School in Southgate and fought out a tight 3-3 draw, the second time these two even teams have come out sharing the points this season. Fortune's goals came from MICHAEL GOLDBERG, PAUL WALKER and an own goal. Said Jack Morris: "We felt like we dominated but missed a couple of good chances. However, being 2-1 and 3-2 down, I felt we battled well and didn't give up. Special mention to Josh Tiano who made his debut and was excellent." Jack went on to single out Henry Raffe for a great piece of refereeing: "I would also like to praise the ref, who played a great advantage when we had a player fouled in the lead up to our 2nd goal. We often criticise ref's for blowing up to early, so it's only right to praise the ref when he makes a decision like this."
Below is a match report from Harmen's perspective taken from www.totallyjewish.com: "A mid-table encounter saw both sides have to settle for a share of the spoils. Having gone a goal behind through an own goal, Harmen bounced back well and controlled large parts of the first half, before the on-form goalscoring machine Ben Rosenblatt equalised for the home side. Harmen started brightly in the second half and following a string of passes, Bradley Cohen threaded a delightful ball to Rosenblatt on the left wing who picked out the cool Ilan Ben-Zion who showed an element of swagger cushioning the ball home. Temple Fortune hit straight back before Harmen took the lead again through the second own goal of the morning. Harmen battled well and never looked in trouble until a dubious free-kick was awarded to Temple Fortune and they equalised with five minutes to go. Harmen manager Marc Cohen said: "On another day we would have won the game but it was a good performance and we can't be too disheartened with a point."
Keen to put the forgetable performance against Athletico Finchley behind them, the SECOND TEAM played Division Four basement club BOCA JEWNIORS and came away with a 3-1 victory, which completed the league double over them this season. TERRY JEFFRIES, with his 16th goal of the season in all matches, BEN DAVID and a rare SIMON ALLEN goal, gave Fortune the points. For Terry, he has now topped last season's 15 goal in all matches and in on his way to an impressive tally this season if he can keep going in the same vein.

PETER KYTE RECEIVES HIS 700 APPEARANCES TROPHY
A special celebration drink was held at the Jolly Badger to mark Peter's excellent achievement which featured in last week's newsletter and is currently still on the website home page. It was great seeing Nick Waitsman, Tony Espinoza and Bryan Silver all long-serving members of the Club for many years in attendance together with Robert Botkai and Mike Shorvon, and some of our younger members who represented our current MSFL teams, namely Lee Fegan, Rob Jay, Gavin Levy and Ollie Squires. They were joined by MSFL Chairman David Wolff to celebrate the occasion with a drink and a few amusing anecdotes from Peter's illustrious 41-year playing career!
After Robert had received three trophies from last season (he could not attend the Awards Presentation Lunch in June to collect his 300 Apps Award, Hlemuth Feiger Achievement Award and Old Boys Leading Scorer's Award), Peter was presented with a large white and gold statuette by David, who had some kind words of praise about the Club, saying that "Temple Fortune have been a wonderful club and a credit to the League over many years". I would like to thank everyone who attended including David whose presence was very much appreciated. Peter, who modestly hates the fuss of such occasions, was moved by his colleagues being there and the prize he received. Thanks too, go to those who emailed me some glowing tributes which can be read here.
WELCOME TO JOSH TIANO
A warm welcome to Josh who has joined us from Redbridge Jewish Care FC. We hope he enjoys a long association with us.
THE MOST EXPENSIVE CORNER FLAG EVER!
I thought it was a great shame that Woodford Wanderers felt the need to go to the press to moan about the defaulted match against Temple Fortune last week. Whatever injustice they feel has been inflicted on their club, the facts remain that they failed to pay a fine which grew from £5 for a missing corner flag to an amount ten times in size. I think they have only themselves to blame yet reading the article in www.totallyjewish.com you would have thought they have been badly wronged.
I spoke to David Wolff about the matter and he told me that the League had simply followed the rules and WW did not have a case for taking this further. Of course, Daniel Segal and Co could go to the London FA if the League throw out an impending appeal so this unsavoury matter looks like running a while yet. I have been assured that if Woodford somehow had the match reinstated as a league fixture, the League would cover our pitch costs (£136 at The Hive) so that would be some consolation if we are forced to play them. However, as far as we are concerned, the fixture is done and dusted and we have three points. I would be extremely surprised if Woodford wave a flag of victory from their losing corner!
PUNCTUALITY ESSENTIAL
Another reminder that you are requested to be at the venue NO LATER than 30 minutes before the kick-off. Anything after that is LATE. This applies to all three of our teams and fines will be imposed on repeated late-comers. Please take the time to click here and read the information carefully. LATE PLAYERS will continue to be named and shamed on this page in future and fines/suspensions will be imposed as necessary.

NEW DISCIPLINARY PAGE ON WEBSITE
To maintain a record of suspensions, I have introduced a new feature on the website which is as clear-cut to follow as anything. The disciplinary table will show each player sent off and suspended alongside a week-by-week calendar, with suspensions clearly marked in addition to fines, yellow cards, payments received or outstanding. And Club fines will be logged as well. The table provides a very useful reference for Team Secretaries monitoring a player's availability when suspended. To get to the page, click on any of the Team Page links shown above in the 'Fortune Pre-Seasons' panel, and then click on 'DISCIPLINARY TABLE'.

GOOD NEWS HAS MORRIS DANCING!
It was good news indeed hearing that Jack and Sophie Morris are expecting their first baby so congratulations go to them both. Jack joyously broke the news during the week and I'm sure that everyone sends their best wishes that everything goes well in the coming months.
MICHAEL'S OLD TEAM NEXT UP FOR THE FIRST TEAM
The First Team meet Second Division CAMDEN PARK in the Second Round of the Peter Morrison Trophy next Sunday at South Oxhey Playing Fields. Midfielder Michael Goldberg used to play for Camden Park and will relish the chance to put one over his old team! The two teams last met in season 2001/02, also in Round 2. Camden Park were then in Division 1 whilst Fortune were two divisions below but our First Team took them all the way to penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time, Camden winning 4-3 after the shoot-out.
Camden's result today (6th November): CAMDEN PARK 3, FC TEAM 'B' 5
FC Team 'B' claimed one of the results of the day by ending Camden's 100 per cent league record. A Freddie Marks double plus one from Lee Goldsmith helped them along the way. Camden's goals came through Josh Toff, Josh Marks and David Kanzen.
MACCABI FOOTBALL REVIEW
MSFL review by Danny Caro, www.thejc.com/msfl
MSFL FIRST DIVISION
BRIXTON OLD BOYS 'A' 1, OAKWOOD 3
Oakwood got their season back on track by inflicting a rare defeat on title rivals Brixton at Clowes. Brixton's goal came through Jamie Kent.
NORSTAR 'A' 2, CHIGWELL ATHLETIC 1
Norstar went joint top alongside Chigwell who saw their long winning run ended in this top-of-the-table clash in Wembley. Craig Pearl registered for the visitors after 70 minutes but it was Norstar's day as Phil Peters' men maintained their 100 per cent record with a fifth straight league win.
SOUTHGATE HARMEN 'B' 3, TEMPLE FORTUNE 'A' 3
Michael Goldberg helped rescue a point as Fortune came away with a hard-earned draw against Harmen 'B' at Ashmole. Fortune went ahead through an own goal but they soon found themselves 2-1 down. Paul Walker made it 2-2 before Harmen restored their lead only for Goldberg to square things up late on.
MSFL FOURTH DIVISION
BOCA JEWNIORS 1, TEMPLE FORTUNE B 3
Temple Fortune proved too strong for Boca with strikes from top-scorer Terry Jeffries, Simon Allen and Ben David. Boca's consolation came through Schulman.
BRADY MACCABI 'B' 8, BRIXTON OLD BOYS 'B' 0
A hat-trick from REISS MOGILNER helped title chasing Brady B get back to winning ways as they outclassed Brixton B at Rowley Lane. Player-manager Josh Dagul (2), new signing Dan Hildebrand and James Joseph completed the rout.
SPEC 1. ATHLETICO FINCHLEY 1
SPEC saw their promotion hopes dealt a blow as they were held by Athletico Finchley. A strike from SPEC's Laurence Rosenthal was cancelled out by Dan Goodman. Finchley finished with 10 men after Jon Begner received a second yellow 15 minutes into the half.
TFFC TRAINING ON TUESDAY: PLEASE ATTEND!
MIDWEEK TRAINING CONTINUES ON TUESDAY AT LONDON MACCABI LIONS SPORTS GROUND, ROWLEY LANE, BARNET, AT 9PM. As you know, the Club has booked a third of the excellent London Maccabi Lions 3G pitch on Tuesday evenings at 9pm for an hour so please make every effort to attend. There will be a separate fee for training which can be paid in two installments or as 'pay and play' on the night (which will a dearer way of paying). Please email Jack Morris to confirm your attendance and to arrange your installment payment. The 3G takes moulded boots or astro trainers but not screw-in studs. If you are attending, please be there ON TIME.
ABUSE THE REF MEANS A FOUR MATCH BAN
The Club will be making a point of drumming into all our players that abusing a match official will NOT be tolerated and will earn any offender a ban of FOUR MATCHES. A reminder will be emailed from time to time to everyone in the shape of examples of things you could say to a referee and be sent off. Some of the jpegs you will find amusing but the serious message is always the same ABUSE THE REF = FOUR MATCH BAN.
