THE START OF THE SEASON IS FAST APPROACHING – PLEASE RETURN YOUR FORMS AND REMITTANCES THIS WEEK

FORTUNETELLER

News, views and everything TFFC by Nigel Kyte

Welcome to issue 4 of the newsletter
With the new season fast approaching, we need all registration and membership forms, plus remittances, retruned to the Club this week. We have had quite a few players joining already (and many thanks go to them) but not enough. I realise people are away but it is imperative that everything is returned as soon as possible.

TRAINING: RECORD ATTENDANCE
The final training session at Mill Hill Park brought about a comment by email from Lee Fegan who ran it with jack Morris. Lee said: "Thank you again to all the lads who turned up for training yesterday. I think it was a record turnout of around 25 people but Jack and I was still able to watch everyone so don't feel that you weren't spotted in amongst the crowd." Many thanks to everyone who has attended the four worthwhile sessions. On Sunday 7th August, the pre-seasons start – a glance to the right will show you the fixtures fro this month.

DAN NATOFF IS THE NEW VICEY!
Lee Fegan has disclosed the First Team's new Vice-Captain today! "I would like to announce the news that DAN NATOFF has been voted Vice-Captain joining our Captain Paul Walker.  I know they will do a great job of leading everyone on the pitch so congratulations to the both of them."

THE TFN FANTASY LEAGUE, 2011/12: DEADLINE APPROACHING
A reminder that we are running a new season of TFN FANTASY LEAGUE for the 2011/12 season, which will be our SEVENTH annual competition. The competition will be under the banner of THE FORTUNE NEWS (TFN) – the official newsletter of the Temple Fortune Football Club – and is open to all Club Members or other invited individuals who were on last season's official Club email directory, plus any newcomers who have joined the Club or will join before the beginning of the season.

It's easy to enter on the fantasy.premierleague.com website. Please choose a suitable name fitting for the competition. Do not slur other professional teams, such as 'Arsenal Scum' – you will be disqualified! Do not slur other participants, such as 'Blindman Ref Kyte' – you will be disqualified! And nothing rude! You MUST use Upper and Lower case for both YOUR name (as manager) and the TEAM name – 'Super Stars' is correct, 'super stars' or 'SUPER STARS' is wrong. Any manager or team name which does not follow this will be deleted.

Once you have formed your team and chosen the squad, go to LEAGUES, click on 'Join a league', then 'Private league' and enter the following Private League code: 57173-21943. This will enter your team into the TFN Fantasy League for the new season! You can follow your fantasy team's progress each week via the fantasy.premierleague.com website. There willl be a trophy at the end of the season and all-time listing on the Club' website as a CHAMPION! Last season we had a record entry of 37 people so come on, give it a go!

Thanks to those who have entered so far. With the Premier League due to kick-off soon, time is running out to enter before the season commences.

DELVING DEEP: A new series where we take a look at articles and features deep inside the TFFC website which you may never have seen! No.4: THE CLUB'S NEWSLETTER – a history of Maccabi football's longest running regular newsletter.

A MATCH IN MEMORY OF PETER MOSS
We are pleased to publicise the event below being held in the memory of the late PETER MOSS, who was tradically killed by a bomb blast whilst he was abroad. Peter played Maccabi football for many years – originally with Bar Kochba FC – and was a hugely popular individual.

"Please see below an event FC Team are arranging to honor the late Peter Moss. We would really appreciate all your help and efforts in promoting this as we are representing the charity JAMI. Tickets are only £10 and you will get to meet some Spurs greats and take part in an amazing auction on the day. Pete was an integral part of the MSFL and was extremely proud that there was a Jewish league and a real sense of community. Please please please show your support for this amazing cause and lets show what the MSFL is all about and prove Pete right.

For tickets, please email me (fearl1@hotmail.com) or Mitch young (mitchyoung10@hotmail.com) and let us now how many you want.

Thanks,
Johnny Pearl

FC Team vs Tottenham Hotspur Legends
Sunday 21st August 2011
Gosling Sports Park, Stanborough Road
Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 6XE
(map)
3pm Kick off

We recently suffered the tragic loss of Peter Moss. Peter was a generous and kind man who lived his life supporting charities and helping out his family and friends. He also had a real passion for sport and especially for football, where he was the Club President, played and was fitness coach at FC Team. Peter helped FC Team achieve great success securing 5 promotions in 5 seasons as well as helping them to reach their first ever Cup Final. His son Gideon is the Club’s Vice Chairman, a key player and worked closely with his dad to enable this success.

We have combined all his passions and loves in life to organise a "Peter Moss Memorial Match" on 21st August 2011, against the Tottenham Hotspur Legends team at the Gosling Centre, Hatfield. Famous ex Spurs players have agreed to take part as well as Luton goalkeeping legend, Marlon Beresford, so please come along to meet some of your heroes and legends of the game.

The match, in assosiation with the charity JAMI, where he regularly volunteered and spent so much time fund raising, is aimed to remember and celebrate what a great man Peter was, whilst also allowing us to raise money for the charity closest to his heart and also towards running his beloved club. We hope you will support this cause as much as we are and will help us make this a special day that will be remebered for the right reasons. Everyone is welcome to attend the match. Tickets are a £10 minimum donation.

We will be also be holding an auction after the match, in the function room, where everyone will get a chance to meet the players and bid on some great prizes. If you have anything you can donate for the auction please contact Mitch Young at mitchyoung10@hotmail.com

NEW DISCIPLINARY PAGE ON WEBSITE
To maintain a record of suspensions, I have introduced a new feature on the website which is as clear-cut to follow as anything. The disciplinary table will show each player sent off and suspended alongside a week-by-week calendar, with suspensions clearly marked in addition to fines, yellow cards, payments received or outstanding. And Club fines will be logged as well. The table provides a very useful reference for Team Secretaries monitoring a player's availability when suspended. To get to the page, click on any of the Team Page links shown above in the 'Fortune Pre-Seasons' panel, and then click on 'DISCIPLINARY TABLE'.
