On Sunday 4th June we held a four-team 7-a-side tournament for the first time at Silver Jubilee Park. The pitch was split into two and the teams – representing the Firsts (the Yellows), Seconds (the Sky Blues), Old Boys (the Oranges) and a Mixed side (the Maroons) – played each other in a 'round robin' format.

The Firsts and Seconds qualified for the final which the Seconds won to capture the Jack Kyte Challenge Cup – which was presented in the clubhouse afterwards – by 2-1. Over 30 people attended the Club Awards in the clubhouse where bagels, snacks and drinks were laid out. All in all, a successful morning of football and awards and great to be back at SJP. A big thank you to everyone who participated and to those who helped organise the event, particularly Kerry Higham who prepared the food with the help of Simon Linden and Mike Shorvon.

Congratulations to all our award winners, especially the Player of the Year for each team, namely Hezzie Raymond, Daniel Hardoon and Wayne Davison. Well done also to Jonathan Abrams who has deservedly taken the Chairman's Merit Award.

Said Co-Founder Peter Kyte, who presented the majority of the awards: "Thank you so much Kerry, Nigel and everyone for a brilliant tournament format with the awards. It went well, everyone helped fill in where needed." The player with the most appearances for the Club added: "It was good to see the Club in such good shape. I hope we do it again next year."
