REPORT FOR SEASON 2024/25

"For the third consecutive season I worked alongside Kerry Higham in her essential Administration Officer role, running the Club's general week-to-week admin business. Kerry has looked after membership and match subs collecting and she will report independently on both. Regarding other areas, this report consists of a breakdown of various admin categories and includes statistical comparisons with the previous two seasons. As usual, at the end of this report will be a conclusion covering the 2024/25 season.

Membership: Kerry will cover this topic in her report. On the statistical front, we had 53 Club Members in total between the two teams, although 3 First Team players subsequently left and received part-refunds. The Full Membership quota topped the annual target of at least 15 per team (18 First Team, 15 Old Boys). Excluding the refunds, the income of £3,720 from all membership was higher than the previous season's total of £3,400. Again, well done to Kerry for ensuring that membership income was significantly high.

Registrations: For the fourth season running Kerry handled WGS (the Whole Game System), looking after all TFFC registrations plus the transfer of Masters guests both in and out of the Club.

Pitches: Again we used Silver Jubilee Park for our MGBSFL fixtures, sharing with Hendon United FC for the second successive season. The previously agreed rate of £200 per match was retained. We staged a total of 11 First Team home games at SJP – 10 competitive fixtures and 1 pre-season friendly. (2023/24: 11; 2022/23: 23 of which 12 were First Team games). The Old Boys Team continued to play at venues arranged by the Masters League, mainly at Hertfordshire Sports Village and Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre. A deal has been agreed with Rob Morris at SJP over the next 3 seasons where we will be paying £225 per match. Payments will be made in two instalments.

Unplayed matches: Due to player unavailability against Mill Hill Dons in a cup tie (which effectively led to Stevie Allen's release as manager), we were forced to forfeit this 1 fixture. (2023/24: 1 – Old Boys; 2022/23: 5 – Firsts 3, Seconds 2).

Discipline: Season 2023/24 gave the Club a much improved disciplinary campaign and, in comparison, season 2024/25, although inferior, wasn't too bad. Kerry will expand upon the figures accordingly.

League fines: The First Team collected 1 MGBSFL fine which was unfortunate in that Kerry was hospitalised and the delayed Full-Time submission was an oversight. (2023/24: 0; 2022/23: £55.00).
Match subs collection: As previously mentioned, Kerry supervised the match day collection in the accounts and will cover this category in her report.

Events: We staged the 2024/25 Club Awards Presentation Event (CAPE) on Sunday 1st June at SJP. The successful format of running a 7-a-side tournament was repeated so again we held a round-robin event involving 5 teams. On this occasion, the new TFFC banners and signage made the displays in the clubhouse and around the pitch very aesthetically appealing. Once again, a lot of hard work went into arranging the CAPE, involving the banners, trophies, awards, programmes, food etc and once again I would like to thank Kerry Higham for her invaluable help in coordinating this event. I'm pleased to report that the morning was another resounding success.

We took tables at two quiz evenings held by the SJP Charitable Foundation in November 2024 and February 2025, where the TFFC teams were narrow runners-up on both occasions – each by a solitary point! More importantly, the Club was paid £250 and £200 respectively as proceeds from both evenings which were shared amongst the SJP facility users.

Equipment: The Club secured sponsorship for the First Team kit thanks to Harris Balcombe (shirt fronts) and also M&S Sons (shirt backs), the first time we have had two sponsors on a playing kit. Grateful thanks to Sammy Samuelson and Dudi Edreyi for initiating these arrangements. We ordered 7 extra pre-paid kits for those players who wanted to buy their own sets. During the season I purchased a set of 14 new light blue shirts with red and yellow diagonal stripes from My Club, which was financed by a generous £250 donation from a current Full Member who wishes to remain anonymous. These shirts were used by the First Team as their 'away' clash shirts on two occasions.

The Old Boys Team used the dynamic '25 Years in the MMFL' playing kit for the second season in succession. Kerry did a stock take on 19th May and, although the kit is well stocked, we are missing two shirts (numbers 3 and 8). Sammy has the First Team kit and the away shirts in his possession with a stock-take to come. The navy Hampton and Fantasy Five kits went into storage and a stock-take was conducted in early April 2025. The Hampton kit was restored to its full compliment and is ready for possible use. There is a shortage of EV2 shorts to use with the Fantasy Five shirts but enough Pendle (navy/yellow) and Kelly (navy/red) shorts to make up a set. We have stored two full sets of shirts (yellow and red stripes, nicknamed the 'Covid' shirts) for future use. All 31 shirts are in excellent condition.

No new navy/yellow tracksuit tops were ordered this season. I purchased two batches of Mitre Calcio yellow/black footballs from Pendle Sportswear to keep the MGBSFL team well stocked up, although as per usual we lost a number of balls at SJP. In storage are a number of spare playing kits including the Daniel Stewart set of shirts (yellow and red), the Founders’ shirts (red and yellow broad stripes), the all-yellow and navy Bekhors kit, the Winckworth yellow and navy shirts (a full set of 14), the Ellis/Winckworth jointly sponsored red/yellow kit, two sets of red Ellis & Co shirts (with yellow curved band) and the 2020/21 'Covid' shirts as previously mentioned. There is also a set of 10 outfield Kingsleys shirts (yellow with the large navy ‘stars’ design) and a green/white Bekhors kit in storage too.
The 3 sets of orange (10 units), maroon (8 units) and sky blue (10 units) shirts from Blizzard Storm FC were donated to SJP who were sending obsolete playing kits to Africa for underprivileged football teams. This helped reduce the Club's stored kits and also helped a worthwhile charity. Added to the kit released to Africa were 2 sets of old red shorts and 2 sets of old socks.

Training: A few training sessions were arranged at the Mill Hill Powerleague but not too many due to problems agreeing dates. When a session was arranged, it was self-financed by the participating players.

Management structure/social media: The sub-committees for the Admin team and Team Managers, which were initially set up for season 2021/22, worked relatively well again in WhatsApp. TFFC Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram continued to be used intermittently when it was required to post notifications.

Conclusion: Although on the administration front Kerry's workload was increased due to having to implement the role of Welfare Officer, once again the Club had a strong season behind the scenes where we collectively handled the majority of Club admin efficiently. As always, I would like to thank our Administration Officer for her invaluable help with the Club's main administration plus both Sammy Samuelson and Jonathan Abrams who managed the match-day admin side of both teams efficiently. A big thank you to Simon Black, Simon Linden and anyone else who helped this season.
