leavingtheclub
An inevitable part of running a football club is the fact that some players will leave during the course of the season. As much as we do not like seeing players depart, we understand that it is impossible to keep everybody happy all the time.

Every season a small number of players decide to leave for a variety of reasons, the most common being the lack of opportunities to play. Injury too, comes into the equation on occasions, causing a player to leave. This page outlines the procedure to follow if you decide to leave the Club.

The following rules relating to leaving the Club are extracted from the Club's Rules & Regulations.
Club Membership: 2(e). A Club Member who desires to leave the Club at any time shall put his request in writing to the General Secretary (email accepted). Should the request be accepted, the Club shall conduct any transfer arrangements, if applicable, according to League rules. A Membership Fee refund, if requested, may be made in compliance with Rule 5(d).

Registration: 3(d). A Club Member who is transferred, having complied with Rule 2(e), shall have his registration cancelled and may have the Registration Fee deducted from the sum of the Membership Fee to be refunded, if applicable.

Membership Fee: 5(c). No Membership Fee shall be refunded after the last day of February during a season. Prior to the last day of February, a Club Member may submit a justifiable request for a refund in writing, on condition that he has complied with Rule 2(e).
5(d). A Club Member who leaves the Club during the course of a season and who has had his claim for a refund approved after careful consideration by the General Secretary or Treasurer, shall receive all or part of the Membership Fee paid as follows:
[i] The Membership Fee shall be reduced by one-sixth per calendar month completed;
[ii] The Membership Fee may be further reduced by deducting the Registration Fee, administration costs, outstanding subscriptions or fines or surcharges, or disciplinary costs if applicable.
5(e). A Club Member who leaves the Club during the course of a season due to any form of misconduct, or a serious or persistent breach of the Rules and Regulations, or Conditions of Membership, shall not receive a refund under any circumstances.

Transfer: If a player requires a transfer, he will need to get a MGBSFL Transfer Form from his intended new club (or from TFFC) which must be completed by the new club. The form must be submitted to the League by the player together with a remittance of £15 (payable by him), which covers the new registration and transfer fees.

We emphasise that, whilst the Club will cooperate in any transfer arrangements according to League rules – if applicable and subject to monies not being owed – the player leaving TFFC is responsible for dealing with all costs relating to his transfer, including postage.

In the MMFL, a new registration fee of £10 will need to be paid unless the player leaving the Club chooses to remain as a 'guest' in the League (ie. available for any team). The Club will not sanction any transfer if any outstanding debts remain.
