Who holds Temple Fortune's best goals per game scoring ratio? This is a topic which has been raised several times over the years in the Club's newsletter. But it is not that straight forward to work out who holds this mantle!
Afterall, is it fair to compare a striker who has scored many goals over many seasons with a so-called 'one-season wonder' who explodes into the records in only a fraction of appearances? The answer is probably not, so guidelines have been established to give this subject the credence it deserves.
We have split the ratios list into two sections the first includes players who have made a minimum of 100 appearances and scored 100 goals. Thus, Section One is a commemoration of loyalty as much as goalscoring prowess. The second list comprises "the rest", those who have scored a minimum of 45 goals regardless of the number of matches played for the Club.
So again we ask who holds the Club's best goals per game ratio? Levy, Hunt, Hyams? Feiger, Botkai, Mamouri? The Club's official stance on the subject leads us to the table-topper in Section One for meritable consistency over at least 5 seasons at Temple Fortune, our best ever striker has got to be STEPHEN LEVY! (Sorry, Feigs!)
